Let’s look at important things here –
Saturn - It is all that which we don't like in our life. Saturn is Delay, Frustration, Restriction, Limitation and Anxiety. It is people of Authority, like Boss at your Work Place or Father-Figure at Home. Saturn is our Karmic Debt from past-life. Saturn is the things we didn't treat too well in our past life. Saturn is our Challenges and Lessons of life. Saturn is Old-Age, Teeth/Bones in Human Body, Diseases, Changes etc. Saturn represents our Step-Relations, it means that wherever Saturn sits, people related with that house give us Step Treatment. Saturn is Hard Work, Efforts and most importantly Perseverance etc. Nothing comes easy and in one go with Saturn. You have to work hard continuously over the longest possible period of life. Saturn makes a person Legend as Legends have one thing in common that they choose one field and work hard in it for whole life.
Dhanishtha Nakshatra - It is a nakshatra related with wealth, luxury and lavish life. It is also a nakshatra related with music. Also, it is a nakshatra of celibacy. Please check this link for more info on Dhanishtha Nakshatra - https://www.astrosaxena.com/Dhannaksh.
Capricorn - As Dhanishtha is part of Capricorn sign, Capricorn and things represented by Capricorn are also important here. Capricorn is the 10th sign of zodiac belt, hence it represents many things related with 10th house of horoscope like Law and Order, Government, Authority, Organisation, Discipline etc. Besides it also represents World outside your home and people, Fear and Anxiety etc. Capricorn is consisted of next 2 and half Nakshatra, i.e. Uttar-Ashadha, Shravana and Dhanishtha. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and that's why it represents Fear and Anxiety.
Aquarius - As Dhanishtha is also a part of Aquarius sign, Aquarius and things represented by Aquarius are also important here. Aquarius is 11th sign of zodiac belt, hence it signifies the things and energy related with 11th house of horoscope, such as Gains, Desires, Hopes and Wishes, Large Organisations, Network Circles etc. Besides this, Aquarius also represents Scientific Thinking & Research, Uplifting the Society, Higher Goals & Rewards for all. Aquarius is made of another set of 2 and half Nakshatra, i.e. Dhanishtha, Satabhisha and Purva-Bhadrapada. Aquarius Lord is Saturn & Rahu.
Mars - As Mars rules Dhanishtha, Mars's position and dignity is important to know about the overall functioning of any planet in Dhanishtha.
Saturn & Rahu - As Saturn rules Capricorn & Aquarius and Rahu co-rules Aquarius, their position and dignity is important to know about the overall functioning of any planet in Dhanishtha/Capricorn and Dhanishtha/Aquarius.
Houses Involved – Also, we can’t afford to forget the houses involved as a planet can be ruling different houses and sitting in different house for every person as per ascendant and planet’s position. To know overall affect, we have to consider the houses involved as those areas of life are being impacted.
Generic Results of Saturn - Lots of things change in life with Saturn. Hence, many things will change with Saturn in different nakshatras. As Saturn represents delay, hard work and perseverance, it shows that whichever nakshatra it is placed in, Saturn will give results with hard work, delay and perseverance. With Saturn, it doesn’t matter if he is in friendly sign/nakshatra or enemy sign/nakshatra. Saturn represents either challenges or even more challenges anywhere. It can never be convenient or pleasant in any house/sign positions, not even in exaltation. Another generic thing will be Saturn’s results in relationship matters. Saturn is a cold or harsh planet. In any house/sign/nakshatra, Saturn would show that people related with that house will give person a very harsh or cold treatment. In romantic relations, Saturn will just suck the pleasure factor away and relationship life can be very dry and cold. People say that after 35 Saturn gives better results but I feel that it is not that Saturn will bring better results but we realize our limitations in life till 30-35 years of age and we understand that what we can expect in life and what we cannot. With this background, let’s understand Saturn in various nakshatras
Interpretation of Saturn in Dhanishtha Nakshatra – Here, Saturn is in Nakshatra of enemy Mars and in both signs Capriicorn/Aquarius, it is in own signs. Dhanishtha is nakshatra of finance, wealth, luxury/conveniences and assets etc. Saturn here shows that person would have to work really hard to gain his financial stability in life. In initial life, they may find lack of wealth and resources. Wealth will gradually and slowly grow in life. Their finances can be better from the time when they are in 30s. They can also work in financial field or in matters of real estate. They may desire to be in an authoritative position but all these results are going to come after delay, hard work and perseverance. As Dhanishtha is also related with music and other creative interests, these interests can also become a reason of gaining authority and recognition. In Capricorn section, gain of authority can be more important. In Aquarius section, serving humanity with any of these representations is more important.
In relationship matters, Saturn will create obvious restrictions, limitations and delays. Beyond that, Dhanishtha itself is nakshatra of Celibacy or Marital Conflicts. It shows that either person is not interested in relationship at all or they can have long-term relationship conflicts. This is not at all a good position for relationship matters.
Role of Mars – Mars placement is important to guide Saturn in right direction, being Dhanishtha Lord.
Role of Saturn & Rahu- As we are trying to interpret Saturn only, we need not to look at Saturn’s position separately being Capricorn and Aquarius lord. Rahu placement is important to guide Saturn in right direction, being Aquarius & Shatabhishak lords
Other Factors – And of course, we need to consider conjunction, aspects, house lordship, house position and dashas etc to know the exact results of Saturn in Dhanishtha. So, we always need to take a holistic view of chart rather than just 1 planetary position.
Conclusion – So, this is how I see Saturn in Dhanishtha can work in a chart.
Hope this helps. Please post any comment or query you may have.
