Reasons behind debilitation of Jupiter in Capricorn/Uttara-Ashadha Nakshatra – I wish to cover both Sign and Nakshatra together as I see the reasons behind debilitation of Jupiter in Capricorn/Uttara-Ashadha Nakshatra are identical. Capricorn Sign and Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra both represent authority, recognition, ambition and fame etc. So, when Jupiter is here, this person is not about naturally sharing his knowledge with others but his main target is to gain authority and recognition through his knowledge. So, knowledge is kind-of ladder to climb-up the steps of authority and recognition. This person will only share his knowledge with others when he sees that there is a promise of some recognition to him after the end of this exercise. So, we can’t say that this person is one natural teacher who shares knowledge out of his own happiness.

Another thing is that Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. Saturn is all about rules, regulations and limitations. So, when Jupiter is in Capricorn, the Teacher is working under lots of restriction. It is like Dronacharya of Mahabharat who is bound by the rule that he can only teach Princes of Kingdom. A real teacher can never be happy under these circumstances. As discussed, they won’t be readily looking to share the knowledge. Rather, they may be looking for excuses to get away from sharing the knowledge. So, Jupiter is not getting any good environment here to exhibit its energy. Hence, Jupiter is debilitated here.

Reasons behind debilitation of Jupiter at 5 degree – Jupiter is debilitated at 5 degree of Capricorn sign because it loses its dignity in D-9 and D-10 charts too. Also, as we know that Jupiter is exalted at 5 degree of Cancer as it is strongest there. Hence, it will be weakest or debilitated at 5 degree of Capricorn as it is exactly opposite to its strongest position.

Conclusion – As I see, these are the reasons why I feel Jupiter is debilitated in Capricorn sign and Uttara-Ashadha Nakshatra at 5 degree.
