Counterparts Series - Taurus-Scorpio Axis

Now, from the series of articles on Zodiac Signs Counterparts, let’s look at how Taurus and Scorpio Zodiac Signs complete or supplement each other.

Taurus - Taurus is the 2nd sign of zodiac belt, so it represents many things related with 2nd house of horoscope like, Hoarded Wealth, Assets, Savings, Finances, Luxuries and Liquid Money. All in all a sign related with luxuries and all the conveniences of life. Taurus is consisted of 2 and half Nakshatras, i.e. Krittika, Rohini and Mrigshira. Also, Taurus' lord is Venus only.



Scorpio - Scorpio is the 8th sign of zodiac belt, hence it represents the things and energy related with 8th house of horoscope like Sudden Events, Secrecy, Dark World, Occult Science, Research, Inheritance, Serving Others, Taxes etc. Besides these things sign of Scorpio also represent transformation, means changing the whole nature upside down. This is one sign which is favorite of every Astrologer, because it has maximum secrets, so every astrologer gets maximum scope of researching. This is sign about which no one can tell with precision that what will happen to the planets in it, as it is sign of secrecy itself. Wherever Scorpio falls in your chart, you may have had biggest challenges in making things related with that house more stable. So, here is my understanding of Taurus-Scorpio counterparts –



From Taurus to Scorpio -



Taurus – Taurus is an Earth Sign and basic quality of Earth is that it provides us stability, balance or ground to stand upon. Hence, Taurus is the sign of stability and security. Wherever Taurus sign falls in our chart, we seek stability or security in that area of life. Normally, we find that security and stability through money in this day and age because if I have money in my life then I would feel safe that even if something goes wrong in my life then I will be able to manage it with my money. Hence, it can be said that Taurus sign makes us to seek stability or security through Money. At the same time, the wrong interpretation would be that they are greedy. They are not greedy but as I said, in this day and age, we get stability through Money only. So, the main reason behind seeking money is not money itself but stability/security.



Again, there is nothing wrong in seeking stability or security in life but any trait can be problematic when it crosses the extremes. So, wherever Taurus falls in our chart, we can be too cautious about that area of life. We can say too protective kind of or too fearful of losing it. In that scenario, we may not be able to any risk whatsoever in this area of life. It can even go up to obsessive compulsive type of situation that person is feeling scared in taking any risk whatsoever.



This is where we need to look for Guidance from the opposite or counterpart of Taurus; i.e. Scorpio.



Scorpio – It is sign of major ups and downs, instabilities and major transformations in life. We need to realize that nothing meaningful is ever achieved in this world by anyone without taking any risk in life. If we are not ready to come out of our comfort zone (Taurus) then we can’t expect any growth or improvement in life. As Scorpio is sign of changes opposite to Taurus, we need to realize through Scorpio sign that nothing is forever in this life anyways. Even nature is not stable. Everyday Sun rises at a different time and everyday Moon changes its shape. So, when nature or existence itself is unstable and changing on daily basis then how can we expect to live a life which is very safe, secure and stable? Through Scorpio, we learn this lesson of facing our deepest fears and going through changes in life. Quite rightly, an stable or consistent Earth Sign (Taurus) has an opposition of Water Sign (Scorpio) which is full of changes and contradictions. Lesson is to flow with changes of life.



From Scorpio to Taurus -



But then again, extremes of any energy can be difficult to handle. Problem with house where Scorpio sign falls in our chart is that we see so much of instability and chaos that we are unable to see a ray of light or hope in that area of life. It is like going through a roller-coaster ride in that particular area of life. It is like person is jumping from one chaos to another and may be due to his own mistakes. Here, person is becoming too risky and inviting troubles for him one after the other.



He needs to realize that taking chances at right time is fine but we need to have certain stabilities in life to function well and prosper in life. Waking-up every morning with new chaos in life is not a very good idea to live life. This is where guidance comes from Taurus-end to stabilize things and we can strike a balance between taking risk and living a stable life.



Conclusion – If I am told to explain Taurus/Scorpio axis in couple of words then I will say “calculated risk”. We need to learn again to balance between these two extremes through these two energies of Taurus/Scorpio nature.
