Counterparts Series - Cancer-Capricorn Axis

Now, from the series of articles on Zodiac Signs Counterparts, let’s look at how Cancer and Capricorn Zodiac Signs complete or supplement each other.

Capricorn - Capricorn is the 10th sign of Zodiac Belt, hence it represents many things related with 10th house of horoscope like Law and Order, Government, Authority, Organisation, Discipline etc. Besides it also represents World outside your home and people, Fear and Anxiety etc. Capricorn is consisted of next 2 and half Nakshatra, i.e. Uttar-Ashadha, Shravana and Dhanishtha. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and that's why it represents Fear and Anxiety.

Emotions are always flowing all-over the place in the area of life where Cancer is falling in our chart. There is no problem with Emotions as such because Emotion is the only difference between human and inhuman behavior. As a human being, we are supposed to have emotions but the problems come in any trait when we go to extremes of behavior in a particular trait. So, problem here arises when person goes into extremes of emotion. This is when a person becomes too happy or too sad. Both extremes are equally dangerous as in both situations; we can take impractical decisions in life. So, this is the problem we can face from the house where Cancer falls in our charts.

 

 

Then the guidance is again coming from the sign in-front of Cancer; i.e. Capricorn.

 

 

Capricorn – Capricorn and its lord Saturn has nothing to do with Emotions. They both represent hard work, perseverance and Law. Saturn is all about practicalities or realities of life. It is completely detached from any emotions at all. Hence, Capricorn sign in our chart brings the guidance for Cancer sign to look for practicality in decisions and actions of life. Capricorn brings the balance to overflowing emotions of Cancer through its practical approach towards life.

 

 

From Capricorn to Cancer -

 

 

But then again, extremes of any energy can be difficult to handle. What if a person is too practical and completely detached with emotions? Let’s suppose that there is a Doctor who won’t treat a seriously ill person in any situation unless and until his fee is deposited. Can we really say that such person is human if he doesn’t carry human emotions? So, extreme of Capricorn-end is that we can become too harsh or ruthless in that area of life in the name of practicality and can become devoid of basic human emotions.

 

 

This is where again the Cancer sign in front of Capricorn can come to rescue or for guidance. Cancer sign reminds us that practicality of life is fine but not at the cost of human emotions or sentiments. Cancer brings that emotional or sensitive touch again in our Capricorn way of life. It reminds us that our cut-throat competitions to reach the positions of authority, recognition and power in this world shouldn’t be literally “cut-throat”. Cancer-end tells that real use of authority and recognition will be when we are able to use it to care and nourish people.
