Counterparts Series - Leo-Aquarius Axis

Now, from the series of articles on Zodiac Signs Counterparts, let’s look at how Leo and Aquarius Zodiac Signs complete or supplement each other.

Leo - Leo is 5th sign of zodiac belt, hence it represents the things associated with 5th house of horoscope like Love, Creativity, Arts, Being on Stage etc. Besides that, Leo is basically the Lion. This is the sign of feeling like King or Queen. Also, it is a sign of independence, Confidence, Ego, Self Esteem etc. Leo is consisted of 2 and half Nakshatra namely Magha, Purva-Phalguni and Uttara-Phalguni. Leo's lord is Sun.

 

 

Aquarius - Aquarius is 11th sign of zodiac belt, hence it signifies the things and energy related with 11th house of horoscope, such as Gains, Desires, Hopes and Wishes, Large Organisations, Network Circles etc. Besides this, Aquarius also represents Scientific Thinking & Research, Uplifting the Society, Higher Goals & Rewards for all. Aquarius is made of another set of 2 and half Nakshatra, i.e. Dhanishtha, Satabhisha and Purva-Bhadrapada. Aquarius Lord is Saturn & Rahu.

Simple reason is that even empty houses represent an area of our life where we need to find the balance.

 

So, here is my understanding of Leo-Aquarius counterparts –

 

From Leo to Aquarius -

 

Leo – As we know that Leo is basically Lion and it is also represented by Lion. Lion is the King of Jungle. So, Leo sign represents Kings, Queens, Celebrities, Prime Ministers, Presidents and other high authority figures. So, wherever Leo sign falls into our chart, we may like to become a King in that area of life. Now, as I always say that Kings can be of two types; i.e. Good King or Bad King.

 

Good King empowers his people and Bad King controls or dominates his people. Unfortunately, we are surrounded by Bad Kings. So, A Bad Leo energy will be expressed by a person who is all into power grabbing and wielding his authority in front of those who have none. This person can do anything to gain authority and keep it with himself. His least concern is welfare of others although he shows-off himself as a great humanitarian.

 

This will be a negative use of Leo energy. But again, guidance is coming from opposite end where Aquarius falls in chart.

 

Aquarius – If Leo is 5th sign of zodiac and represents 5th house energy of native’s own happiness then Aquarius is 11th sign of zodiac and represents 11th house (5th from 7th house) energy of other people’s happiness. Hence, Aquarius is sign of serving humanity and humanitarian causes.

 

This is where Leo gets the direction and guidance to transform Bad King energy into a Good King Energy. This is where person is supposed to use his authority, recognition and King-like status in empowering and serving his people. This is where energy can again find its balance and person may not be all about grabbing the power and authority for his own ego satisfaction rather if at all he wants to gain authority then it is to “really” serve people and not to only preach about it.  

 

From Aquarius to Leo -

 

Aquarius - But then again, extremes of any energy can be difficult to handle. The biggest drawback of Aquarius energy is that they can be too much about serving others and making others happy, even at the cost of their own happiness. They are those people who will burn their own house to bright-up the village. Again, there can be Good Aquarian and Bad Aquarian energy too.

 

Good Aquarian is a person who serves others without any selfish interest and moves on to next task once one task is over without even looking whether they are getting anything in return or not. Bad Aquarian is a person who also serves others but in order to get something in return from others which may be money, rewards, recognition or even a praise. So, their service to others is not selfless.

 

The problem with Aquarian energy person is that they are easily rolled over by others. They get their purpose served through an Aquarian person and after that they forget the Aquarian person till the next time they need some help or service.

 

Leo - This is where again the guidance is coming from opposite sign Leo where Leo says that serving others is fine but not at the cost of your self-esteem. Leo says that helping others is fine but not at your own cost every time. Leo teaches Aquarius energy to assert themselves, not in order to become selfish and power-seeker but only up to such extent that none should take them for granted.

 

Conclusion – So, this axis is again teaching us to balance the energy between power/authority/recognition and service/help/welfare of others.
