Ascendant Nakshatra Life Pattern
Ascendant Nakshatra Life Pattern
There was a request to write a series of articles about Ascendant Nakshatra, its importance and how it indicates our life pattern?
As I see, although I have written a lot about various different ascendants and their ways of functioning, I am yet to write in detail about various ascendant nakshatra and their indications on human life. Hence, I am inclined to write about this topic.
So, let’s begin with this introductory article on this topic and let’s cover it under following points –
1. Ascendant, Ascendant Lord and its position.
2. Ascendant Nakshatra.
3. Charan or Pada (steps).
1. Ascendant, Ascendant Lord and its position – Ascendant shows the kind of life path a person will take in his life. Ascendant Lord and its position in chart shows the direction in which your life will go. For example, Ascendant is Scorpio & Lords of Scorpio are Mars & Ketu. Now, it shows that native’s life path can be full of instability and ups/downs and wherever Mars & Ketu are placed in horoscope, the person will put a lot of time & effort in that area of life and results will be depending on the dignity of planet. So, if Mars is in 6th house in Aries, this person's life path will be to deal with obstacles, enemies and disputes. If Mars is in 9th house, then this person will spend lots of time in religious activities but he will try to be dominant there, means he thinks he is better than his Gurus, which actually he might be, no big deal. If Mars is in 8th house, this person's life focus would be to research and to bring the secrets of the other world in front of everyone.
2. Ascendant Nakshatra – Then there is something called Ascendant Nakshatra. It is based on the degree of Ascendant (please find introduction of all the Nakshatras here - http://astrosaxena.com/Nakshtra). If Ascendant shows the life path then Ascendant Nakshatra will show the pattern of life. Like, if Ascendant Nakshatra is Anuradha. Anuradha can be broken as Anu + Radha. It literally means Following Radha or Following Your Desires (Radha as manifestation of desire). So, this person is more a desire oriented person and can be devoted to his heart’s desire. This will setup his life pattern in the pursuit of his heart’s desire. This is how ascendant nakshatra indicates our life pattern.
3. Charan or Pada (Steps) - Every Nakshatra is further divided in 4 Padas (steps). These steps are nothing but 4 Purusharth of our life, i.e. 1. Dharma (Duty), 2. Artha (Purpose), 3. Kama (Desire) and 4. Moksha (Liberation). Now, in which Charan or Pada, Ascendant Nakshatra is, that will decide the tendency of person behind taking particular actions as per Ascendant Lord and Ascendant Nakshatra. Like, if Ascendant Nakshatra is in 1st pada of Dharma, this person will take actions as per his Ascendant Lord and Nakshatra, considering it as his Dharma or righteous duty towards God and others. He won’t think if he is getting any return or not. Taking the action itself is most important for him and the reward too. Now, if Ascendant Nakshatra is in 2nd pada of Artha, this person will take actions as per his Ascendant Lord and Nakshatra but he will think about the purpose for which he is taking the action. Not necessary that purpose should be his individual gains, he can do it for the larger gains of everyone. If Ascendant Nakshatra is in 3rd pada of Kama (like in this chart), this person will take actions as per his Ascendant Lord and Nakshatra but his own desires will take priority before any other thing. If Ascendant Nakshatra is in 4th pada of Moksha, then this person will take actions as per his Ascendant Lord and Nakshatra but now the actions will be taken with the intention of receiving Moksha (liberation).
Now, coming back to the main topic –
As discussed, Ascendant Nakshatra represents our life pattern. Now, there are total 28 nakshatras (if we include Abhijeet too). So, in this series of articles, we are going to discuss how each ascendant nakshatra is going to impact the life pattern of native. We will also learn how each ascendant nakshatra lord and its position is going to give direction to this life pattern. Also, the dignity of ascendant nakshatra lord is going to decide if person will get success early or late in following his path.
For example –
1. If someone is born with Moola as Ascendant Nakshatra. Then we can say that traits and characteristics of Moola Nakshatra will be part of his life pattern like going through major changes, sudden abrupt events, interest in research and occult/hidden matters etc. Now, wherever Moola’s lord Ketu is placed in chart, native can see sudden changes or transformational events in that part of life. Now, with planets like Ketu and Saturn, dignity doesn’t really matter. Hence, majority of events can be difficult to deal. Good thing here is that as Ketu is of spiritual nature, those events can bring a spiritual evolution to person.
2. Like, in my case, I am born as Vishakha as Ascendant Nakshatra. Vishakha represents the split, two-directions and teachers/counsellors. So, these traits or characteristics can be prominent in my life pattern. I can be involved with these activities more often as I go through life. Now, Vishakha lord Jupiter is in 9th house/Cancer/Pushya. This shows a life pattern of teacher or a counsellor very clearly as Vishakha, Jupiter, 9th house, Cancer and Pushya all represent Teachers/Counsellors etc. At the same time, it shows that person can have a split view in matters of belief system; i.e. he may not follow social diktats in matters of morals and values etc. Now, as Jupiter is exalted in 9th house/Cancer, it shows that person can be benefitted from all these activities or traits.
3. Final example; suppose someone is born with Ardra as Ascendant Nakshatra. Ardra has characteristics of major chaotic and transformative events. It also represents evolution through those transformative events in life. Ardra lord is Rahu. It shows that person can have a major chaotic transformation in the area of life where Rahu is placed in the chart. Again, with strong malefic like Rahu, dignity doesn’t matter but it shows that if person doesn’t try to escape from major transformations in life then person can have positive evolution through those transformative events in life.
So, this is what we will learn and cover in this series. I hope it will be useful learning for all of us. We will start with Ashwini Ascendant Nakshatra article soon.
Thanks,
