Yogkarak Rahu and Ketu and the fascinating story of Svarbhanu.

The first question may pop up in the mind, how come on earth, the so-called most malefic planets work as so benefic planets – by being the Yogkarak for the native?

The north node and south node of the moon, despite having no physical incarnation, impacts immensely on each and every individual.

Apart from being the karaka and representations of so many things in our life, The Rahu is Karaka of unfulfilled desires from your previous lives and he will guide you there with sitting house, acquiring sign & nakshtra, aspects and most crucial here – the conjucting planet. He will provide you the illusion in the beginning and he will also remove the illusion later on and show you what is your soul’s higher purpose in this life.

The Ketu is Karaka of past life expertise and some love over karmic outcomes for this birth. He will guide you there with sitting house, acquiring sign & nakshatra, aspects and most vital here – the conjucting planet. The house it sits, you will get results very easily and sometimes without doing anything (you soul has already done it very fabulously in the past).

The so-called most malefic plants turn most benefic for you if you any of these conditions fulfilled –

1.The Rahu and The Ketu sitting in any of the Kendra house (1st, 4th, 7th or 10th) and conjucting there with the lord of Kona house (either 5th or 9th).

2. The Rahu and The Ketu sitting in any of the Kona house and there conjucting with lord of any Kendra house.

3. The Rahu and The Ketu sitting in 5th and 9th house with lord of 5th or 9th house.

4. The Rahu and The Ketu both become Yogkarak, when one of them becoming Yogkarak by fulfilling any of the above condition.

Why do they behave like Yogkarak in such condition?

If a single Planet is sitting in the Kendra house and additionally it is lord of Kona house. It is already a benefic yoga irrespective the planet. The same goes for conditions number 2nd and 3rd mentioned above.

The best results of The Rahu and The Ketu are when they conjunct a planet which is already in good condition. They will simply amplify the qualities for the natives internally and externally, material and spiritually.

The climax here – The fascinating story of The Svarbhbanu which later on becomes The Rahu and The Ketu.

Caution – This is not a story from the Samudra Manthan (The churning of the ocean).

The Birth of Svarbhanu: A Defiance of Cosmic Order

Born from the union of Sage Kashyap, the revered progenitor, and Singhali, a determined demoness, Svarbhanu’s life began with defiance. Singhali, longing for a son of immense power, persuaded Kashyap to grant her wish during the day, disregarding the auspicious timing of the night. Reluctantly, Kashyap yielded to her persistence. Thus, Svarbhanu entered the world—a child destined for greatness and controversy.

Svarbhanu grew into a colossal figure, his presence as commanding as his ambitions. His skin gleamed darkly, his muscles rippled with unyielding strength, and his charisma could bend hearts and minds.

The Jealousy of Svarbhanu and the Battle Against the Sun

One fateful day, Svarbhanu stood beneath the fiery gaze of the Sun. As its illuminating rays fell upon him, his pride swelled. “How could anyone be brighter or more radiant than me?” he thought. Fueled by jealousy and a sense of rivalry, he resolved to challenge his half-brother, the Sun, who shared his father but was born to another mother.

Their battle in the skies was cataclysmic. The Sun’s scorching rays clashed against Svarbhanu’s shadowy might. Mountains quaked, seas churned, and the heavens darkened as their struggle continued for what seemed like eternity. Each strike shook the cosmos, for both wielded unparalleled energy drawn from their shared lineage.

The Sun, relentless and blazing, eventually delivered a devastating blow. Svarbhanu fell from the skies, his immense form crashing onto a distant mountain. Though on the brink of death, he summoned his inner strength and began a meditative penance, his focus unbroken for 10,000 years.

Svarbhanu’s Penance and the Exceptional Boons

Moved by his unmatched dedication, Lord Brahma, the Creator, descended to grant Svarbhanu two extraordinary boons:

1. True Immortality

Unlike boons granted to Ravana, Hiranyakashipu, and others who sought immortality with conditions, Svarbhanu’s boon was unique. While Ravana was invulnerable to gods and demons but not humans, and Hiranyakashipu could not be killed by man, beast, or weapon during day or night, Svarbhanu’s immortality was unconditional. His essence would endure eternally, beyond the reach of death itself.

2. The Power to Swallow the Sun

Inspired by the tale of Hanuman mistaking the Sun for a mango and attempting to eat it, Svarbhanu requested this seemingly impossible ability. Brahma granted it but warned, “You may swallow the Sun, but you will never digest its power.”

The Swallowing of the Sun and the Rise of Rahu and Ketu

Empowered by these boons, Svarbhanu ascended once more. His form expanded, becoming ten times larger than the Sun. In a display of supreme power, he effortlessly consumed it. The cosmos fell into chaos, darkness enveloping all creation.

But as Brahma had forewarned, the Sun’s inferno raged within Svarbhanu, tormenting him from within. Writhing in agony, he sought relief.

Lord Vishnu, the Preserver, appeared to restore balance. With a swift strike of the Sudarshan Chakra, Vishnu severed Svarbhanu into two halves:

The head became Rahu, embodying ambition, pride, and worldly desires.

The body became Ketu, symbolizing detachment, spiritual awakening, and the internal quest for truth.

Yet, Brahma’s boon ensured their immortality. Rahu and Ketu, though divided, became eternal celestial forces, influencing humanity through the unseen.

The Legacy of Rahu and Ketu

Rahu and Ketu are unique among cosmic entities—shadow planets that wield profound influence despite lacking physical form. Sage Parashara hailed Rahu as Mahaveer, for even with only a head, he exhibits unmatched courage and determination. Ketu, though headless, transforms souls internally, guiding them toward higher truths.

Their story is a testament to the delicate balance of creation—the interplay of light and shadow, desire and renunciation, and the eternal dance of cosmic forces.
