So, lets see what Rahu can do in 1st house without any conjunction or aspect from any other planet. 1st lets see what these 2 things represent - 

Rahu represents illusion, foreign lands, foreign things (foreign as in unknown things. So, for someone living in Punjab, culture and rituals of Kerala is also unknown and hence Foreign), Drugs, Medicines, any type of intoxication, fame, wealth, success, obsession, past-life left-over karma, movies, television, online world, cheating, imagined fears, unusual things, unique things, creativity, rule breaker. Rahu also blows things out of proportions. 

1st house/Ascendant is your self, personality, overall health, life path and head in human body etc.

Aspect-wise, in Vedic Astrology, Rahu has 5th and 9th house aspect. He is unable to impact 7th house from its place as Ketu is sitting there, which is the other axis of Rahu and represents all those things which are non-Rahu. 

So, when Rahu is in 1st house, it causes a confusion in person regarding self and personality. For the best part of their lives, they are confused about themselves and what they want to do in life? As such, they constantly change their opinions and path in life easily. As Rahu is obsession, these people keep very high ambitions from themselves. They have very high aims for life. Rahu is also our imagined fears and when it is in Ascendant, these people are usually caught up with lots of imagined fears in their lives. They can have very elusive personality and one may not able to understand them throughout life. 

From 1st house, Rahu aspects the 5th house of education, children etc. and it makes a person obsessive about children and creativity. Their love life may have lots of cheating involved where they end up in breaking the relations. They want to have many children. 

Rahu's next aspect goes to 9th house of religion, higher learning etc. As Rahu represents unusual things, these people tend to find their own belief system. They discard the established religious principles and work hard to make their own profound belief system, which may not be accepted everywhere. 

Remember, Rahu and Ketu is only an eclipse and eclipse never last forever, neither in life nor in horoscopes. So, wherever Rahu-Ketu are sitting in horoscope, person realizes the true nature of that house in early 40s, when Rahu and Ketu attain their maturity age.
